NEW PLAYGROUND FOR SINGH SABHA
Member for Lilley Anika Wells today has announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver $50,000 to deliver a new playground at Taigum’s Singh Sabha Sikh Temple.
This $50,000 election commitment will fund replacement of field lighting, improved spectator facilities and replacement fencing.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Minister Wells said the funding would deliver a new platform, fort, slide and fencing at the temple, which was visited by more than 200 children every week.
“Singh Sabha is a religious and cultural hub for our Northside Sikh community members,” Minister Wells said.
“Around 3000 people visit Singh Sabha each week, including 200 children who use the playground, which is in a state of disrepair.
“As the Labor Member for Lilley I am so pleased to be delivering this much needed new playground to benefit the community.”
